Bill,

I checked our Employee handbook under insurance here at Intergraph Corp.
Major medical insurance covers Prosthetic appliances/devices, etc., but
specifically EXCLUDES hearing aides of any kind. They do cover Speech
Therapy if it is prescribed by a doctor for a medical condition and given
by a licensed therapist. I think there are other employers around here
that do not cover speech for HI kids.

Would you post your findings, please?

Bill,

Might your son's hearing aids be covered by his Medicare/Medical/
Social Security disability insurance? An officemate has a 5-yr old
with serious problems including cerebral palsy and the little boy has
his own caseworker, etc. If this is of interest, I'll ask her exactly
what the situation is. Of course, you probably already know about
this, but I thought I'd better mention it, just in case.
