Index Number: 12234 No, the subject header of this message is not a commentary on the willingness (or lack thereof) of our fearless leader to buy one of his users a drink at the bar once and a while! Rather, I thought I would report on my success with Starlink: the pc pursuit competitor service. Bottom line is that it goes to Pittsburgh, works very well, and is cheap (but not as cheap) as pcp. For 7.33 hours of useage in October I paid $13.78 using the lower per hour rate plan with a character surcharge over the basic allowance. Also include the $10 per month maintenance fee not applied to useage. Still not bad and cheaper than at&t Reach Out America or Sprint +. Also, the only busy signals or trouble getting into the outdials I have tried so far have resulted from the bbs system being busy: no busy signals because of undercapacity of the system as with pcp. The sign-up contract ($35 initial fee) can be obtained from Galaxy Telecommunications at 505-881-6988 (voice). All of the docs are downloadable from the companies own bbs. Scott ... Index Number: 12303 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] scott maybe different in washington dc but I have not got modem busy signals in over a year or more since pcp put the cap on the sighted users of 30 hours. it got rid of the riff raff and what is the big deal about calling pittsburgh I mean there are plenty of pcp boards carrying blink talk and with silver express and if you want to call direct 9600 baud like vibug catwalk for direct service and pcp service there is st joseph in phoenix t.a.b.b. and us night wing in tampa and bushels of others I can't name now. to me the 90 hours a month with no minimum usage is hard to beat. the dialer for pcp icex and a-dial20 is also hard to beat. on another topic I just read a talking book about your profession called the terrible truth about lawyers written by mark mccormick and I wonder if you have read it and even though you must be biased what do you think? does he have valid arguments? tandy. ...
