Greetings,
Does anyone know of any sources anywhere, either by phone recording or
modem, for cable schedules such as Home Box Office, Show Time, etc? If
there's not a source somewhere, there should be. Thanks.

Thanks. > Lee, In our area there are two sources that provide information like that, both are relatively new. One is called the Yellow Page EXPRESS and is provided by a nationaly company called Perception Electronic Publishing. The provide by means of a phone call to a central computer sports, news, reviews & previews, general interest, horoscopes, and weather as broad catagories. You have to have a touch tone phone to enter the numbers for the catagory you want. If you do not have this service in your area and want to see what it is like, call (804)431-8800 you can then enter the access code 1961 to hear the listing of Cable for that day. We also have another service that is sponsored by the local newspaper and does almost exactly the same thing. Here it is called InfoLine and can be accessed by calling (804)640-5555 with the same procedure of a 4 digit selection code for the area you are interested in. I believe this one is also run by a national outfit as well called the CityLines Network. Sorry I can not give you numbers on the companies themselves so that you can contact them to find if they have plans to expand in your area, but I am sure that your local phone company and newspaper have been solicited by them and could probably provide you with that contact. -Warren- -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!275!429.0!Warren.King Internet: Warren.King@p0.f429.n275.z1.fidonet.org

Tom, I was interested in what you said about the talking yellow pages. We
have them in the Boulder area, and I like them a lot. Can you tell me what
some of the other programs you have on yours? Some of the ones I have access
to are trivia, comedy club, a whole raft of medical messages
and much more. Are the people in your area helpfull when it comes to
finding the right four number combinations?
Thanks. Bill.

walter the talking yellow pages number has been disconnected but it
was like a voice mail system or menu driven system you used your
touch tone phone to make choices and all the catagories were
sponsored by someone so you had to hear a commercial along with the
information. the number used to be 800 222 8255 or 222 talk but it is
now gone.
