Hi Bill: In the most recent postings on misc.handicap, there was some mention of abuse of several sorts. I have been lurking on your net for some time now, and I am very interested in the issues surrounding the problems of the disabled. Anyhow, it might be worthwhile to let you and misc.handicap know that there is a useful mail list available to survivors of childhood abuse and SOs of abused people. To join, one sends a short message to ' hanker@binbi.roy.or.us ' that clearly states the individual's desire to join Survivors Anonymous. As an abused child who did survive, I find it very helpful to my own progress and recovery. Survivors Anonymous is an anonymous service since many of us are still terribly ashamed of the sexual, physical or emotional abuse, often incestuous, in our lives. Anyone who wants to join should be aware that the information on this mail list is very explicit, minces no words, and is very often painful to read.
