Index Number: 12513 Did anyone notice the "60 Minutes" show that aired (at least, in this area) last night dealing with the alleged risks of Mercury-laden amalgam (sometimes called "Silver" in the dental trade) fillings? It hinted at a connection between mercury and MS, or at least an aggravation of MS by Hg. It was interesting to note that both the American and Canadian Dental Associations representatives interviewed indicated that any dentist *voluntarily* mentioning the *possibility* that there might be a risk involved with the use of Hg-amalgam fillings is considered to be gulity of *unethical* behavior! They said the ADA/CDA by-laws were amended to state this specifically. Rather gives one a clearer insight into what some people mean by use of the term "ethics", no?
