Index Number: 12763 Hi J.P., one suggestion is that if your camcorder has an audio input jack use a wired mike instead of a wireless. The sound you get on the tape will be much better and clearer. I would love to have a copy of your movie with Julie and Al playing on computers. I look for people doing things, not neccassarily great things but just doing things. I think that when others can see someone with their disability or one simular doing and find out how they do it can motivate them to giving it a try. So much of the time the only time we see someone that is disAbled in the media it is one of the super atheletes and most of us can't relate or work up to that. But showing everyday and easily aceivable spots can give something for even the most severly disabled to use as a goal. One of the underlying points of my show is that we are "just plain folks". That we have and do a lot of the same average stuff that the abled do. Allbeit sometimes differently. Of course my passion for computers is also something I like to push and have wanted to set up several shows specificly on the adaptive devices and how others are accessing them. So far I haven't got enough footage of different techniques to do this. It is better to explain and show something then to just try and tell what is available and give verbal discriptions. If you and your family go camping, fishing, picnics, even how you manage to trim a Christmas tree I am intersted. I hate having to be the the demo model all the time. Sometimes this creates a problem also. One of the adaptive devices that was sent to me to use on my show was a bottle opener for pop bottles. The device is a round plastic knob with a T handle and the bottom center is carved out and rigded with a taper going up. You fit this over the bottle cap and rotate to pull the cap off. I have a limited range of motion and practice and try as much as I wanted I couldn't get the thing to work. In fact I somehow managed to jam the bottle cap into it and really get everything stuck. I had to just give in and not include it on the show. It is a great device but not for someone like me, and it is better not to try and demo and give the impression that it won't work. If you have found something that is really helpful to you, shoot it and we'll share it with others. I hope I've given you some ideas and clarified what I do and hopefully we can start you to work as an on-location camera reporter.
