Index Number: 12787 Chris, did you ever get your answer about speech synth problems? I'll just say this about it. Synthesizers are somewhat like people in that the vary widely. Not only that, but the amount of flexibility with which they can change things also varies. For instance, with my Eureka, I can't get that fool machine to not say * if my life depended on it. However, I'm using Jaws with my clone, and when they tell you that you can turn all punctuation off, they mean it. Hope this helps. Oh, one more thing. if the graphics you mentioned are ansi, only the clones can be silenced while they go by. However, don't let that bother you, picture on, just don't overdo it please. Bill. Index Number: 12830 is it possible to train a speech synthesizer to recognize shorthand for terms? Are there speech synthesizer "macros". Is it oossible to train a speech synthesizer to learn that (V) means a hug for someone whose name starts with V? And that ((V)) means two hugs? -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!163!113!Chris.Brown Internet: Chris.Brown@f113.n163.z1.fidonet.org
