Index Number: 12963 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] When I was teaching one of my students Vert Plus for the Texas Comision, the people at the Career Development Unit, the people responsible for deciding what equipment clients will get, informed me when I recommended Jaws or Vocal-Eyes instead of Vert that Jaws especially was way above the needs of a client who was just working on Word Perfect. I couldn't believe it. here programs come along that make Word Perfect the easiest I've ever seen to use and the Comision says the program is to much for the client's needs. Someone in this echo made a comment about Vert Plus as the program written the way screenreaders were written several years ago and boy is that ture. I never really got it working with WP as well as Jaws or Vocal-Eyes. It would never automatically speek the status line even. However I have gotten the word that the Comision is still going to buy that for their clients. When jaws first came out, it did not. When you would go in the jaws cursor, the cursor keys did not work right. I told Ted about it, and had to send him a copy to checkit out with, and he fixed it. He said when he fixed that bug it corrected a problem for some other programs they had a problem with.
