[This is from the Blink Talk Conference]

Tinytalk is currently still under development. To further its development, I
am making the experimental version (currently 0.27) available for the asking
to anyone who wants to try it out and is willing to give me feedback on its
performance (I do NOT consider it fully debugged).

I will eventually offer two versions of Tinytalk. The program as it stands
now, with a few more features, will be a shareware product called Tinytalk
Personal. The cost will be under $100; registration will include at least one
major version update, choice of print, Braille or cassette manual, and some
technical support. There will also be a fully commercial product, Tinytalk
Professional, which will include a system of add-in programs providing
advanced features. Tentatively planned are 1) a keyboard remapping and key
labeling facility 2) a pronunciation dictionary 3) a number output module
and 4) an advanced reading (scrollback buffer, continuous read in word
processor, etc.) module. All the add-ins will be supplied as programs which
load separately, but integrate seamlessly with the main Tinytalk module. This
will allow you to configure a system that provides only the capabilities you
actually need; if, for example, your synthesizer supports a pronunciation
dictionary in its own memory, you won't have to set aside system memory for a
facility you won't be using. Tinytalk Professional will also come with
predefined configurations for many major applications, unlimited (within
reason) technical support, and full manuals. Price will be under $200.

The experimental package can be downloaded or file requested (first-time
callers and points OK) from the COPH-2 BBS at 312-286-0608 (2400 baud max).
Some other systems carrying this conference will also have it. The current
filename is TTALK027.ZIP (sorry, no "magic name") and is approximately 87K.
It includes several versions of the executable (one for each supported
synthesizer), a manual and two configuration utilities. I do ask that you
register with me (no cost while the program is still experimental); those who
register during the test period and provide me with feedback will receive a
registered copy of Tinytalk Personal and a substantial discount on Tinytalk
Professional.

General questions can be left in this echo; less-than-general questions can be
