Index Number: 13307 Thanks for your welcome & suggestions. Your ideas reinforced some things that we are doing right and gave me some ideas for improvement. I will write to you with some specific questions that I have. Adam has not had any problems yet (that I'm aware of) with kids teasing him. He has attended the same daycare/preschool since he was an infant. However; our older son Ross (8 y/o) had an experience last summer when attending the same daycare. I had purchased a slide presentation done by Lynette Sawish and when we were reviewing it at home Ross said "the kids at daycare tease me that my little brother is a midget." I asked him what he said when they teased him he said "I tell them not to say that, they might hurt Adam's feelings". This was something that he had never mentioned before. We took the slide presentation to the daycare and showed it to the school age kids. The reaction was fantastic: they had alot of questions, one little boy apoligized for calling Adam a midget, and Adam now has alot of older "brothers & sisters" looking out for him. A little information went a long way. You are right about the stares hurting the parents more then the child. Adam loves to be the center of attention, as long as no one touches him or talks directly to him - then he "becomes" shy. We're looking forward to hearing from you again.
