Bill, they probably just start the recorder when they dial the phone
and just record the single ring before the Newsline machine picks up
the line. How sloppy!
The Newsline numbers are not secret. However, I would encourage
individuals not to call them on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Let the
repeater people have first shot at getting the new bulletin. The
maintwo numbers are (213) 462-0008 and (805) 296-2407.
