Here is another one for the mix.
For several years, I have used PROCOMM successfully with speech.
The important thing is to pick what you are the most comfortable with
and very important, pick something you can get help with locally.
There is nothing so alone as trying to figure everything out yourself
with no help.
Ask for help.
With PROCOMM you can get a tutorial from Talking Computers Inc. in Falls
Church, va.
It will guide you through the set up with speech.
I chose PROCOMM  because the government office where I worked had it and
I didn't want to use one package at work and another at home.  The same
is true of the Artic speech package I use.
There are a number of people around here who have these packages and we
exchange notes and information.
