Index Number: 13589 Ann, I'm re-sending this so that it can't fail to get your attention. I should have done so before, but I'm really curious about your experiences with Assistive Devices at the hospital. Please feel free to reply directly or through the list. Sorry if this inconveniences anyone on the list. Thanks. Hi, Ann, I am a grad student in the Speech-Language Specialist (I *hate* the "P" word) program at Gallaudet University, in Washington, DC. Our course and labwork has covered Assistive Devices, and I couldn't help being curious about which "other" devices the hospital has acquired. Are there any that are available for patients' use? How much training is given to staff as a whole; ie non-emergency room staff? If you have a chance, I'd be very interested in learning more about A D use in "real life". Since, as we know, higher education is often out of touch with that arena of experience. Life is too important to be taken seriously. Have fun!
