Index Number: 13611 Hello! This is the first time I've posted to this newsgroup so please excuse me if this is an inappropriate topic. I finally pushed myself to start learning sign language and would like to learn more about the Deaf community. At first, I didn't have a clue where to look. It only dawned on me recently to check the same place I look for just about anything else - USENET. I'm interested in any books on Deaf Studies that anyone might recommend. Also, I'd like to know how big the Deaf community is in the field of computers and if there is a newsgroup or mailing list dedicated to those interested in this topic. Thanks.
