Yes, that really is frustrating. Nothing like finally getting to the doctor only to not be treated properly. > Yes, it's frustrating all of the way around. With me since I make a salary they cut off all of my benefits so I have to pay my attendant straight out of my pocket. And this latest tax reform my accountant said that there were six changes and five of them hurt me. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining but it seems like they should have a more graduated means of help. I do believe that someone should definitely be checking on her everyday. It's really a shame that it appears almost as if nobody really gives a damn or not. If nothing else it would break up the monotony of being alone. > As for the ice and snow fears of your wife, get the contractor to come >back and put in a "doggie-door." They can be secured at night, and then in >the morning, your wife can open it and let the pup out, and secure it again >when the pup comes back in. The problem is that our dog doesn't come on command and we live in a concentrated neighborhood. Too make matters worse it would be difficult to put up a fence since our next door neighbor and we are not on the best of terms. They have a chain link fence but it is on their property and I don't know if they would allow us to connect on to it. In addition, the dog is a West Highland terrier and they love to dig. > I tell her, Frank. Every time I talk to her. Thanks. Well, I appreciate your efforts on my behalf. Index Number: 13338 Hi Betty, and Nadine, I'm going to address this to you both because while I'm answering a letter to Betty about Nadine. I know that Nadine can now read also. First I really think that Arizona's med system stinks and hope there is some way that you can manuever around in it. Second I saw in an earlier post that the tricart Nadine is getting is only a rental for now. Nadine, this is going to really upset you, but please listen and think carefully and logically about what I'm going to suggest. Instead of your permanent wheels being a tricart, I think you should get a power chair. The reason for this is that with the problem you are having with your hand and my continue to have with hands it is going to make manuevering and operating a tricart harder than using a powerchair with a joystick control. Tricarts really need to be operated with two hands at all times. With a power chair you only have to use one h Yes, I know Nadine it is "Oh My God, Not A Real Wheelchair Crip Time" but just like you can use your tricart only when you need it so can you use a power chair. Give it some thougth and talk to the people over at BVR about it. I'm so glad that Nadine can now read and rejoin us. Missed her alot. Index Number: 13620 Hi Betty, What about the Lion's Club or Elks or somebody like that? What about the local Ham Club, or why not put a message out on the local Computer board she frequents? Most people who use computers are under forty and are able bodied. If she's worried about having strangers in the house, ask Jesse if he'd supervise. She could probablly manage it if she offered pizza and cokes. You'd be suprised what can be done for pizza and cokes. <smile> I got all the storm windows on my house taken down that way. <smile> There are usually coupons in the paper for Pizza Hut or somesuch. Good luck, Nadine. Take care, peace is still worth praying for. Ann P. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!260!204!Ann.Parsons Internet: Ann.Parsons@f204.n260.z1.fidonet.org
