I did get in contact with another company which sells a product called Movi or something like that. It too is a portable reading device for low vision folks. I have new question to address to you and the Handicapped digest people. One of my students is in te engineering program here. He needs a special scientific calculator to do the work in a couple courses. His problem is that he can hardly see a lcd calculator's screen readout. He wants a calculator with largeprint screen with good contrast; prefers white on black, visa versa. Did my other query make the network? I sent a query for another student who is hard of hearing. We have received no mail back on it. The student had questions concerning the university's getting a amplified phone system. First they have taken over four months with the request and at present have not installed anything. He wanted to know what others have done to get their schools to accomodate them. He also had a question regarding classes which mainly rely on discussions. He lipreads and can only see so many people at once. He wanted to know what solutions were out there -- like having people wearing mics while he wears a receiver. All suggestions were to be mailed to my account -- phillip@hikssrv.lib.purdue.edu Phillip White Alps Trainer Purdue University
