I don't go grocery shopping very often and when I do the
last thing I 'm looking for is a power wheelchair since I have my
own. This has cause me to miss an added feature in many of the
newer supermarkets.

New electronic Mart Carts are popping up around the
country. These little carts are designed for the mobility
impaired and zips its rider aroud the store at 1 mph. WOW, I
don't have to worry about being passed by these speedsters. It
really isn't designed for the handicapped as much as it is
designed for the elderly, the pregnant wonman, and the walking
wounded such as a broken leg or twisted ankle.

A new Thriftway near us covers some 45,000 sq ft and has
these little devils zipping around the ailse. They pay off for
the grocery store by reducing the number of falls and lowering
insurance.

Another new concept is the accessible port-a-potty which
can be setup at various functions such as ball games, horse
races, and concerts. A fellow from up north in Connecticut is
marketing this idea and is towing his potty around behind his car
exhibiting it to interested parties.

        What will come next.
