Took Buddy back to see the doctor this morning ... I'm STILL
not overly impressed with that doctor <sigh>.

The doctor did, however, spend a little more time with us this
time but he still wasn't very kind (very lousy bed-side manner).

We ask him about a water bed and were told that was the worst
possible thing that we could do.

I ask him about some of those 'big words' he put in his report
and he explained (sort of).

Buddy asked for some pain medication and was given Tylonel #3
for pain. He also asked about something to help him sleep, explaining
to the doctor about his 'restlessness' sometimes at night - Dr.
Lowell prescribed Dalmane to be taken when needed.

Dr. Lowell also changed us from Baclofen to Robaxin telling us
that he didn't like 'long term useage of Baclofen' - we ask him if
there were side effects with that kind of Baclofen - he said 'yes'
and we could not get any more explaination out of him. Does anyone
know anything about Robaxin ?? Or, are there others out there taking
that particular drug ??

I told Dr. Lowell about Buddy's more frequent numbness, bowl
problems and spazms - he said, and I quote "Well, what do you want ME
to DO about it" ... (nice guy, huh ??) I said back "What CAN you do
about it" ... he said, "I KNOW he (Buddy) has problems" ... now what
gang ??? It's all kinda' dis-heartning, ya' know <large sigh>.

Thanks gang for listening .... I was so upset <again> after
leaving the doctor's office ... I just had to get if off my chest.

                              Jean

FW> It sounds to me like you might want to look into finding another
FW> doctor. He might not be able to do anything more but it definitely
FW> sounds like the one he is seeing is not doing you any great big
 FW> favors.

I think you're right in this suggestion. There is no
reason to continue seeing a doctor who has such an attitude. I
want one who tells me everything and treats me as an intelligent
individual instead of a broken piece of meat.
