Hiya all.... I have to share something that happened yesterday. I
have been experiencing some EXTRA pain the past week or so (probably
'cuz I overdid it). Yesterday I was incredibly irritable w/ the pain
in my lower back, left side (usual place). In haste, I leaned over to
fix the paper in my printer, my hubby saw me doing so and quickly said
( ok... TOLD ) me to quit it, he would get it untangled and to not
bend over like that. I quickly moved back a step and started to
straighten up. I wasn't bent over that much, but as I stood up, I
wacked, and I mean WACKED, my lower back on the edge of a table,
RIGHT ON THE AREA AROUND WHERE I HAD THE DISC SURGERY. Well.....
needless to say, a few choice words escaped, but not many 'cuz I
practically fell over on my face into the printer in pain. I mean
pain where all I could do was to try to breath. I called it RED
pain. AFter recovering a bit I sat down. I felt kinda numb back
there where I'd hit it. You know...like when you smack your thumb
and it hasn't started to hurt...yet. I figured that I had really
done it now. THEN.... after a few minutes or so, I noticed that the
pain I'd had before was gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is still gone toda. Oh..I still have the basic ache and stiffness
and toes/ankles tingles, etc., but the .... acute type pain is gone.

Any idea what I may have done, if anything? Am I being too optimistic
about this and will I find that in a couple of days or something I
will have it worse than ever?? Wierd.. Wierd...

Thanks for letting me share this.

Ruthie

Hiya Dennis.. HMMMMM..... I didn't even think of that! I had thought that
maybe I moved one of the fragments that are in there, but the Dr. did tell me
that part of the pain was probably being cause by the scar tissue from the
surgery pressing on nerves!!!!!!

Yup...I still have the other, chronic type pain, but I'm happier, for now
anyway. Sigh... I wish that you, and everyone else here, didn't have to go
through this awful awful pain thing. Really gets to you, I know. Who knows...
maybe being a klutz like me has its advantanges (grin). Now all you have to
do it try to knock yourself around a bit and see if it helps the pain (GRIN).

 > Anyway, goodluck, and I hope that pain stays away...

Thanks, Dennis. And thanks for the response. It is always so good to "talk"
with the folks here.
