Index Number: 14033 Hi Betty, yeah the support systems cities provide can be a reabummer. A few weeks ago I was handed a copy of a court case that really upset me. A city here in Ohio, Middleburg Hts. had a building code that was stricter than the state code as far as accessability was concernedTh They had a builder who was building some section 8 subsidised housing and he didn't want to spend the extra money to comply with the cities code, so he took it to court. What is really sad and frustrating is that the city lost. The court upheld that all he was required to do was meet the state code, which he did. Unfortunately those of us that would have gone down and spoken on behalf of the city and several of the agencies didn't find out about the mess till it was over. I did write the mayor of the city and suggest that he check to see if he was in compliance with the federal ANSII standards and that may be the route to force this guy into better compliance. Since he is building section 8 he must meet those requirements. What a mess things can get when so many government entities are involved. Yes, Ray has a tendency to just plow right through problems. 00000 Pandora -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!157!3!Pandora.Nigh Internet: Pandora.Nigh@f3.n157.z1.fidonet.org
