Index Number: 14051 The movie CURTAIN OF ICE: A Disabled Man's Voyage By Kayak Across the Bering Straits, will be playing Thursday, April 18 at the Cowell Theater, Fort Mason, San Francisco at 7:30pm. It is a dramatic account of the first crossing of the Bering Strait by skin boat since the Cold War era. The 45 minute documentary by California filmmaker John Armstrong, with narration by Hal Holbrook, will be followed by a reception for both Noyes and Armstrong. The screening is a benefit for Environmental Traveling Companions, a non-profit organization which provides accessible wilderness adventures for people with special needs and which first introduced Noyes to kayaking. Advance tickets for the April 18 film premiere can be purchased through Environmental Traveling Companions by calling (415) 474-7662, or at the door. Cost for the benefit event is $12, which includes the reception. NOTE: This is a good group to support, I've been a guide for this group for awhile, and to see to response from the people they take out on trips is just amazing. Please come out and see a great film and support a great group.
