[This is from the Silent Talk Conference]

Hi Wayne. I will be dispatching to you via U.S.Snail a copy of
the relevant excerpts from the "Public Review" draft of the
ANSI standard. It looks like the committee review draft I sent
earlier except for the section on telephones for HI. This has
regressed to the same meaningless verbiage as the 1986 standard
(he says disgustedly). Comments are being received until April
22. If you can get any of this scanned into postable format,
other SilentTalkers would possibly be interested.

Everyone else please note. Now is your time to make your needs
known. Remember, most of the people writing the standard are
not ones who need protection *OF* the ADA. (They think they need
protection *FROM* the ADA.) Now is the time to act!

Also in the snail packet will be a copy of my comments on the
proposed ATBCB guidelines for ADA. Comment on these guidelines
closes on March 25. ADA mandates that DOJ base the accessibility
regs on the ATBCB guidelines.

Check your mailbox :-)

Jack.
