Index Number: 14166 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] Wo! you had quite an experience with the T S I sales staff. I to, way back when, had a similar experience and I just sort of blew it off and back then bought a Symphonics 215 from Artic. This was in 1986. Those people who I've known who have had versabraille systems have been moderately happy withthem and what they do they do prety well but they are no subsubstitute for a full blown computing system. In all seriousness I don't see how T S I can charge $2,295 for the Vert System and sell many of them when a more responsive, versital, fast running speech systems are out there for one third the money. Well that is why in America we have the freedom of choice. Thank goodness in the products for the visually empaired we are getting more and more freedom of choice. I'm not sure that that type of freedom has been around long enough to determine what difference it will make. One more thing on TSI sales representatives, those who service our areas seem to be knowledgible, courteous, and eager to help. I've not seen any of that hard sell of old but of course that doesn't mean it isn't there.
