Has anyone here purchased a Keynote Gold XE or had a chance to get
extended use with one. I am curious as to how good the new Master
Touch speech software is and how good is the speech quality. I am
giving it serious consideration, but really need some input before
I decide what to do.

GD> I didn't really look at the keynote gold but did get a good

I am not quite sure what you mean by "digital speech." I suspect you mean
digitized speech as all solid state electronics, and computers are digital.
Digitized speech is based on human speech which is digitized or reduced to
numbers for later playback. The Keynote Gold is not digitized. It is
synthesized speech like everything else we use. It used the same hardware as
the Audapter from Personal Data Systems. Personally, i consider it to be
somewhat better then the SSI 263/sounding board/SynPhonix type synthesizer, but
this is a subjective opinion. We mostly like what we are used too.
