Index Number: 14773 Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, is considering teaching a graduate level course/workshop for credit this summer in adaptive computer technology. It would be geared toward the professional who works with disabled individuals, giving them hands-on experience with new technology so they may better serve their clients/consumers. The course would include speech synthesis, screen reader software, screen enhancement software, and voice activated computers, combined with commercial packages such as Word Perfect. An overview of connections with mainframes and data communciations will also be included. Please help us determine the following: 1. Is there a need for such a course? 2. Is a two week course reasonable from the participants point of view? 3. Is the post-graduate credit important to participants? 4. Is a $300 fee appropriate? 5. Would participants be interested in University housing at a reasonable fee?
