DR> if you get an opportunity and if
DR> you care to do so, I would really be grateful if you would discuss
DR> the strengths and weaknesses of the Romeo brailler versus the Index
DR> brailler from humanware. I have not had hands-on experience
DR> with either. So any input from you is much appreciated. Thanks.

The Index is no longer distributed in this country by HumanWare. It is
available from "Jack Wood." I don't know the name of his company. It costs
$3795.00 and prints at 50 characters a second. It is made in Sweden. It is
pretty quiet and produces good braille, however, I haven't used it extensively.
The Romeo prints at 40 characters a second and costs $3450.00. so, it is a
little slower, but cheaper. It is much more of a known entity in this country.
In general, it is a very good machine and usually goes and goes without
problems. I personally would go with the Romeo, but that is a personal opinion.

Enabling Technologies, while it has made mistakes, probably has more experience
producing braille printers then anyone and they have worked hard over the past
year or so to improve customer relations.
