I can surely identify with your frustration, Nolan. Try changing the I
R Q jumper to I R Q 7. Then when you load the Sonix com program
include the parameter /i7. Usually I R Q 7 is clear. However you may
have to use one of the others. Grant

NC> here's the problem: A few months ago, I had a dealer wrip out
NC> the B drive--okay, he didn't wrip it out--maybe if he had, I
NC> wouldn't be screaming for help. Anyway, he replaced the b
NC> drive with a 40 megabyte hard disk drive. As it turns out, the
NC> hard drive works when the Votalker isn't addressed. When you
NC> try to address the votalker, the hard drive heads for an
NC> expense paid vacation in Baghdad--I mean it quits working
NC> altogether. They just won't get along, both the drive and
NC> synthesizer seem to be saying "It's either him or me."
Nolan, It sounds like the synthesizer and hard drive are using the same
interrupt. There is a jumper on the votalker to change the IRQ setting. The
choices are 2 3 5 or 7.. the old boards came set to 2. I had trouble with this
with a Leading Edge I set up once. I think I ended up using 3 but not positive.
You will also have to tell sonix that you have changed the jumper with a space
/i=X on the sonix command line, where x is the number to which you change this.
Hope this is clear.
