Here is a debug script for staydown for any DOS machine with a
standard keyboard. I would be lost without it on my PS/2 (though I
have an old XT clone with a 'replacement' 101 key keyboard, and
that one doesn't work so well). Just use DEBUG to make a file
called STAYDOWN.COM, put it in your root or UTIL directory, and put
"STAYDOWN" in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

If you have downloaded this script file, remove
any captured communications header and then enter

                DEBUG < filename

where filename is the name of this script file.

Hope this helps!

You can get STAYDOWN or 1-FINGER from several BBs in the USA and from the
IBM people in Atlanta (or from PolyNet here in the UK on (44) 81-580-1690)
but you might also like to contact me about an adapted keyboard which
brings the Alt, Control and Shift keys out onto a row of big switches
for one hand and leaves the other hand to press the keyboard buttons.

Made for a colleague of mine by Elfin Systems of Reading, Berkshire, UK.

Netmail me on this system for more information.

G'day John...

I don't know what it is your after as I missed your original
msg.. Thought I'd tell you of some imformation available here in
OZ..

I have MS and am not severely disabled but when I realized I would
no longer be able to work full time.. My aunt had just died and was
completely bed ridden for a couple of years B4 she died..

I was already heavily into BBSing but didn't realize until it was
too late, how much richer her life could have been through the use
of a modem and some devices attached to a computer..

She could have been communicating with people all over the world
instead of lying all day and just looking out of her window..

I decided to investigate as to just what was available for disabled
people to allow them to interface to a computer..

In the phone book here in South Australia I found a number for
Disabled Information.. They were most helpful and sent me heaps of
pamphlets and information.. I was amazed to discover that as long as
you have control of 1 muscle in your body, with the right software
and hardware you can do everthing from controlling the household,
word processing, modeming to just about jumping on a space shuttle..

They also put me onto a technical place here in S.A. who design aids
for disabled people here.. They are the Regency Park College of
Technical Education. The aids they design are custom made for the
user..

      Hope I've helped.. Don...
