                                      (Showed videotape.)
O.K. Can someone turn the lights back on please. First of
all, let me ask how much were you able to understand? You weren't
really able to catch what was happening? O.K. Basically, it's about
a boy.  Where did the story take place? (Resp onses:  In a cold place;
somewhere snowy; on a farm.) Right! Now what happened inside the
farmhouse? (Responses: The boy was painting. Several pictures were
on easels. The boy loves to paint.) O.K. Who came in the door?
(Responses: The father . He was drunk.) How did you know he was
drunk? (Responses: Because he had a pint-shaped bottle of liquor in
his hand and he was staggering.) What happened next? (Response: He
had an argument with his wife.) What did the boy do? (Responses: He
left the room.) Where did the boy go? (Responses: To the barn.) How
did you know he went to the barn? (Responses: Because of the sheep
and manure on the barn floor.) That's right! There were sheep and a
thick layer of manure all over the barn floor and sheep were mulling
around. I never said the word "barn". Interestingly enough, you knew
I was talking about a barn. The boy wanted to get a shovel right? As
he looked for the shovel, what did he find? (Response: A lantern.)
Yes, he found a lantern, lit it, and shined it on the barn wall. He
was shocked at what he saw. What did he see? (Response: Something
nailed on the window.) What was nailed on the window? (Response:
His artwork.) Yes, his paintings were used to c over the broken
windows. How did the boy feel? (Response: Mad.) Who nailed the
paintings over the broken windows? (Response: The boy's father.)
What did the boy do next? I guess you missed the last part when I
stopped the videotape. The boy w as furious and ran away.
