Hi Curtis, welcome to the echo. What type of hoist is your friend
using to access the car. Is he using something that lifts just him or a
large lift that takes the chair and him up. It makes a difference on how
we can help and also what he prefers using. There are also several ramp
systems for cars and vans that can be used. As to his friend and his
wife. They need to check with her doctor to see if she can handle a
motorized chair or tricart. If he prescribes it SSA will pick up most of
the cost. This way she can idependently move herself. If she can't work
the controls several chairs have systems that can be operated by and
attendant. This means that he can walk behind her and move the joystick
