Index Number: 15098 Hi! Dora, I was surprised to hear about your signature stamp. I am surprised that clerks in stores accepts it, but what if someone steals your credit card and your rubber stamp? They will have a easy time of it too. Could you say that it is not your signature and you did not make that expense? I have noticed that store clerks do not check signatures on credit card bills very much and that they do not realize or know the importance of the signature. I worked at one time at the postal wicket selling and cashing postal money orders, and I would not accept such a signature. Your signature is like your finger prints and can only be signed by hand using a pen or pencil. You are lucky that you have been able to use your stamp in stores and it has been accepted, but as I said, what if someone steals your stamp? cheers, J.P. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!163!223!Jean-pierre.Beland Internet: Jean-pierre.Beland@f223.n163.z1.fidonet.org

That happened to my mother, although on second thought, I'm not sure they got herstamp, but I would have to report my card stolen and they would have to take care of it and if someone used my card and stamp, I would not be charged. Oh, this has bothered me and when I'm out in public, I hang on to my purse for dear life. As for the clerks, noone has ever given me trouble. In fact many are fascinated with it.
