I ran across the following "letter to the editor" in the Sunday Toronto
Star and I thought there might be someone in here that could help. I'm going
to re-post it into several echos, so forgive me if you read it more than once.

Please do *NOT* reply to me, I am not involved in any way. Their address is
given at the end of the letter. If someone reading is able to help out at all,
be sure to mention how you came to know about their letter!

I doubt they imagined that their search could go so far and wide!

letters page)

"We have an 18-year-old son, who, due to an accident three years ago, is
visually impaired and unable to speak due to permanent injury to his larynx.

"He has the use of an electro-larynx, but this is not very effective now
that he is back to school and endeavoring to continue his studies.

"We wonder if any Star readers may be aware of any other means of
amplifying his almost inaudible voice - some device attached to his person or
maybe an implant. It will be appreciated that being able to see to write and
not yet adept at braille, he finds it extrememly difficult to communicate.
