 BK> David,
BK> I'd like to have the last word on whether or not the Arkenstone
BK> would work with a Toshiba. What can you tell me about this?

Bill, The Arkenstone Reader would not work with a Toshiba laptop, at least not
the lower ones. It requires a full-length AT expansion slot for the OCR card.
I don't know whether or not some of the 5000 series computers have regular
slots, but the lower ones do not, such as the 1000, 1200 and 1600. Even if they
did, I am sure the card would really suck up the power. Finally, since the
system uses a flatbed scanner, any benefits of portability would be negated.
