Rainy, cold weather did not put a damper on the
opening action. Sullivan was too busy unveiling
posters for child abuse month (ignoring the abuse of
children in pediatric nursing homes) and meeting
with Georgia businessmen. But Sullivan got the
message loud and clear. He has refused to meet with
ADAPT before, by letter, but he can not refuse
forever, and ADAPT will be sure he knows that,
if he hasn't figured it out already.
USA Today, AP and UPI wires, the network
affiliates on CNN and local media were there.
Tribune Broadcasting (for LA, New York,
Chicago, Atlantaand Denver) covered the action too,
so local activists can contact their
local media and encourage them to watch
the wires and affiliates.
