Hi,

I have been informed that many people in California are happy
because our new governor is going to take a brave tough new stand
to help shape up Californias budget problems. Two of his primary
tactics to be used in winning the War agaisnt Californias deficit
problems is to raise taxes and cut back or abolish social
assistance programs. Gosh, why am I not surprised!

Of course, everyone knows the "big bucks" are in the social
assistance programs right? So, the way to get a county, town,
city, state or nation on its feet is to eliminate programs designed
to assist the old, the poor, the handicapped and so on isn't that
right? I mean just as long as the politicians are collecting
"their" salaries and giving themselves "their" pay raises and
collecting "their" pensions, what matter for the unemployable
handicapped persons and their pension, the disabled vet and his or
her pension, the old people who have only their pension! I mean,
just as long as the politicians get theirs, what matter about those
who need help. I mean afterall, we are just parasites living in
wealth and abundance from the fat of the land. Just so long as
congress votes themselves a fifty per cent pay raise before too
long, it will be okay.

Because, as I said, everyone knows the big money is in social
assistance programs, and if there will be more homeless out on the
street because they cannot survive without assistance or cannot
afford to both pay the bills and eat, well, that is okay. Afterall,
there are so many on the streets and homeless now, so what if a few
more fall by the way! Just as long as we get the money away from
Public Assistance, Social Securty programs, Education and training
program and veterans disability.

Look at California alone, what a waste of money, Mental Health
programs are being run on a budgetary standards approriate for
1973!! What a waste! With a little more creativity and maybe some
advice from the good folks in the G.A.O. we could cut that budget
back to a standard appropriate for 1963!

Then again, to hell with the old, disabled and poor, let them get
some training and education and work like everyone else! So, what
if those same training and educational programs are being
eliminated or cutback! Ignore that fact and tell people to get into
those programs anyway!

Wait, better yet! Get all those people to work in the shelters or
flipping burgers or anything, just as long as the social program
they are part of is cut back or eliminated! Afterall, that is the
main goal right! So, what if these people won't make enough money
to pay their bills and take care of themselves and if what little
assistance they get is greatly reduced, or better yet, taken away!
They may lose their homes or apartments but at least they will be
working!

Everyone knows that most people receiving assistance are just lazy
and have no motivation and just don't want to work. I mean, this
may be the land of the free and the home of the brave, but who said
a damn thing about looking out for our neighbor? Afterall, the
politicians make damned sure that the employed abled bodied see
Social Assistance programs as nothing more than largest national
drain of monies in existence! If it were any worse, someone "might"
come up with the idea that "just maybe" some of these politicians
pay raises, salaries and pensions are a bit unreasonable! But there
is no fear there, because thanks to the politicos, everyone knows
that most of their tax dollars are being siphoned into Social
Assistance programs whose clientel are just lazy and who should be
out working. I mean just forget about how many of their tax dollars
are being spent on politicians rasies, politicians personal
expenditures (because we all know that "That rarely" happens!) and
pensions!

I'll bet that if the whole country dumped every existing Social
Assistance Program in the nation, Americas financial burdens would
be instaneously cured! Right? Sure, of course! I mean, nevermind
that we may over extend in our giving to other coutries while
feeling little obligation or sentiment towards our own! As long as
the politicians are doing okay, that is aftreall, the thing!

Everyone knows that when there is budgetary difficulty, the blame
lay within the Social Assistance programs. When we will learn that
continually trying to cut back and elminate some of these programs
is'nt the answer! The only real resolution will come when all of
these programs are totally done away! So what if there are more
homeless, so what if there are some deaths, so what if more people
might be forced into criminal activity to survive. As Scrooge so
eloquently put it, "It will help decrease the surplus population!"
And that, would mean more money for the state as well! Certainly
this must be the ultimate answer and result? Right? Although, it
makes one wonder where the budget slashes and program closures will
occur once these pesky draining Social Assistance programs have
been done away with! And just as long as the political financial
bundle is the very very last bastion to ever fall!

And remember, don't worry about the ranting and the crying and the
dying of those who fall by the way or by those who cry for help or
fairness or dignity for there will be "statistics and politicians
and uncaring" to show that none of this has happened! It is only
the whining of spiteful ingrates!

Just as long as the politicians have "their" salaries, "their perks
and bennies", just as long as they give themselves "their" more
than substantial pay increases and "their" pensions and just as
long as they keep America informed of Americas great burden, all
those who need assistance, and convince the nation, that Social
Assistance is where all the money is and the answer to the nations
financial problems, then, what matter about anything else??

Keepin' the faith!
