Index Number: 15544 I am currently involved in a project with the Hugh MacMillan Rehabilitation Centre and the North York board of Education. We are currently completing a pilot project exploring vocational evaluation and career planning for students with physical disabilities. I am interested in tools and techniques that people are using for vocational evaluation and career exploration for students with physical disabilities. Traditional tools rely very heavily on good upper extremity mobility. Some "tools" that I am interested in finding alternatives for include the GATB (General Aptitude Test Battery), Singer Work Samples and numerous interest inventories. Of concern to some of the evaluators I am working with is the loss of "norms" in the evaluation procedure. How are other evaluation sites dealing with these issues? Are there functional evaluations or work sample development tools available specifically for vocational evaluation? I would appreciate any assistance with this issue.
