Index Number: 15427 [This is from the Silent Talk Conference] Netherlands The government of the Netherlands has indicated its committment to provide a contribution to the Voluntary Fund for the Decade of the Disabled Persons. This contribution will go to specific projects benefitting disabled persons in developping countries. The Netherlands International Development Agency is selecting projects for proprosals submitted to the Voluntary Fund for financial assistance. USSR The recently rennovated Quarenghi Theater in the Hermitage located in Leningrad, celebrated its grand re-opening with a musical concert in support of the United Nations Programme for Disabled Persons. The audience, which filled the theater to full capacity, enjoyed a beautiful performance by dancers of the Leningrad Kirov Company, music by the Leningrad radio Orchestra under the direction of Ennio Nikotra and special selections by the talented young Italian violin soloist Andrea Cappelletti. The special Representative of the Secratary-General for the Promotion of the United Nations Decade of Disabled Persons was presented with the contribution from the proceeds of the ticket sales.
