Index Number: 15638 Hi Terry, I run TBBS Multi-Line and this software does accept TDD calls and menu structure can be configured in such a way as to be compatible for TDD display read out. Of course, there is a proviso here, that being that one must have a TDD that has "ascii, capability. In some states, those who already have TDDs given from their telephone companies that are older Baudot only models, may upgrade to the newere Baudot/ascii capable models simply by exchanging their older TDDs. Also, there may be a waiting period if the telephone company in question does not have a newer model available. As to TBBS, it will accpet TDD calls at both 300bps ("Really" fast read out on a TDD display) and 110bps (Much better!)depending on what you configure it to do. You could configure it to accept only one of those speeds or both. Just as a CPU, TDDs can puase or stop "text to TDD" input and TBBS can be set to send out as little as one line at a time requiring a carriage return before more any more input is sent out thus further helping to prevent "runaway" input that the TDD display cannot keep up with. We have had a number of TDD calls as well as calling our board with my TDD on numerous occassions and have been able to do quite well even though we have not really done any in-depth work (Beyond extremely easy menu options) to make the Rose even more TDD compatible. We have found TBBS to extremely versatile and have currently designed a menu structure that reads out very easily for a TDD screen or Speech device. For example, on the Rose, you do everything from one front menu that is extremely simplified, a typical option would read out, "PRESS G FOR GENERAL MESSAGES or PRESS A FOR ABLED MESSAGES. We also stripped away all ascii and ansi graphics which are of no use to a speech device or TDD. I hope this information has been of some help. .
