HI LIZ GLAD YOU MADE IT HOME SAFELY. IT WAS NICE MEETING YOU AT THE CONVENTION
. IT SEEMED LIKE EVERYTIME I TURNED AROUNG WE WERE RUNNING IN TO EACH OTHER.
ANYWAY I HOPE YOU FOND THE CONVENTION ENJOYABLE AND THAT WE'LL SEE YOU AT
FUTURE CONVENTIONS.
I READ YOUR MESSAGE ABOUT THE CONVENTION AND THOUGHT I'D TRY AND ANSWER
YOUR QUESTION ABOUT DUAL MEMBERSHIP. THE POLICY OF THE NFB IS THAT A PERSON IS
NOT ALLOWED TO HOLD MEMBERSHIP IN BOTH ORGANIZATIONS. THE REASON STATED FOR
THIS POLICY IS THAT THE PHILOSPHIES OF THE TWO ORGANIZATIONS OR SO DIFFERENT
THAT IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO SUPPORT BOTH OF THEM. HOWEVER, IN MANY CASES
PEOPLE DO BELONG TO BOTH ORGANIZATIONS AND THEY ARE NEVER QUESTIONED ABOUT IT.
WHEN IT BECOMES A BIG ISSUE IS WHEN A MEMBER DRAWS A LOT OF ATTENTION TO
THEMSELVES BY DOING SOMETHING LIKE ENCOURAGING ALL OF THEIR NFB CHAPTER
MEMBERS TO QUIT THE NFB AND JOIN THE ACB. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS NOT WELCOME
BEHAVIOR.
I HOPE THAT THIS SHEDS A LITTLE LIGHT ON THE SUBJECT. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO
TALK ABOUT IT MORE FEEL FREE TO GIVE ME A CALL. I THINK I GAVE YOU MY NUMBER.
IF NOT IT IS 512 451-1717. I AGREE THAT IT WOULD BE NICE IF WE ALL COULD WORK
TOGETHER. ON THE OTHER HAND THOUGH MAYBE A LITTLE COMPETITION IS GOOD FOR BOTH
ORGANIZATIONS.

The NFB Convention in New Orleans this summer is in the
happy position of having to add a second hotel. It is the
Fairmont Hotel and offers the same low low rates, ranging from
$28 for singles, to $38 for quads. There will be a shuttle bus
between hotels.
This means that we have already booked over 1130 rooms and it is
only the beginning of May. This convention could be over 3000
people.
For those of you who haven't heard, the 1992 convention will be
in Hollywood Florida, between Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach.
