You could turn off the built in abbreviations. At present, it seems
that those built in words get priority over any downloaded dictionary.
I tried telling the Accent to pronounce D R as DOCTOR and it worked,
but only if the built in abbreviations were turned off. I plan to talk
with Mike Chang at Aicom Corporation tomorrow. There is a new chip
available to upgrade the Accent and I believe that this "dictionary
priority" question is addressed in the new hardware. I will report
here once I know more.

Also, a brief progress report on my program... I did sit down this
weekend for several hours and got a good start on my program. The
basics are done. The fun, yet challenging code remains. I will get
back to it this coming weekend. Oops, no I won't. This weekend is
Mother's Day! I'll see what free time I can find in the next week or
two. I definitely do not want to put this off too much longer. If I
get out of the mood, it will become one of the several projects that
are on the "back burner". My hard disk is FULL of such animals.
Anyway, I will keep you posted. Thanks for your interest.

        Jim
