Index Number: 15811 [This is from the Spinal Injury Conference] Hi Scott, had to take a few days vacation and got a little behind on getting back to you about Prentke Romich's new developments. They are working on a talker with on screen programming. They also have a newsletter that goes out to all of their users about new models and research. Barry Romich asked me if you received their newslettter, unfortunately I didn't know if you did or didn't. Let me know if you don't receive it and he will make sure you get them. They will be one of your best sources for new developments and for modifing existing units. The Touch Talker with Speach Strategy that they used to sing a special song was specifically programmed for their aniversary ceremony. It took 200 hours to program in the song and voice fluctuations for singing and was done by one of their top programers and technichians. They do have some of the talker language packages that do have some stock songs set up though. Things such as Happy Birthday, Aniverary songs and so on. We ran out of time and didn't get to play with and look at any of their computer adaptions but will be going back down to do that sometime this summer. Don't know exactly when have a busy schedule and have to try and get transportation for an hour long trip down to Wooster, a couple of hours down their and then another hour back on a weekday. Weekends tend to be easier to pull long distance transportation, but they will not be open weekends.
