[This is from the Blink Talk Conference]

[Note from Bill Mcgarry: This will be available on the SIMTEL20
archives in the next few days as well as being available
 on the Handicap News BBS]

Now available for downloading or file request from BlinkLink is the
ASAP program that has been getting so much talk. It comes in the form
of two files, ASAP.ZIP, the main executable and update READ.ME files,
and ASAP-DOC.ZIP, the complete documentation.
It supposedly supports not only the DoubleTalk synthesizers, but
the Sonix, Accent, Soundingboard, and a few others. I did boot it for a
few minutes with the Soundingboard, and it worked, but that's about all
I can say at this point.
Oh, one thing I found interesting was how the demo works, allowing
full uninterrupted use for 20 minutes, then apparantly continuing spoken
reminders that it is an unregistered copy getting closer and closer
together untill they are coming every minute. Although I suppose this
is very annoying, the docs gave no sign that the program ever totally
locks up or stops working, so not too crippled to allow a good view of
the program I would say.
Also, apparantly when you register the program you are supplied a
utility that allows you to enter your registration codes into the demo
and turn it into a registered version, so this would allow quick updates
via your modem.

These files are here not due to an upload by the program's
author, as promised a few weeks back, but rather thanks to Gary who went
and got them and sent them here, so thanks partner!
                                                        Willie
