[This is from the Blink Talk Conference]

A gentleman called my office the other day with a request I have never
received. He wanted to know if there were any support groups for
sighted children of totally blind parents.

It seems as though he has built up quite a bit of resentment towards
his parents for "using" him as a reader/driver/handyman. He also
complained about not having parents like everyone else commenting on
their appearance, lack of functional skills, and poverty.

He told me that he hated blind people and what they had done to his
life.

I told him that I would check on support groups and suggested several
sources of counseling.

Can anyone address this issue?
