Index Number: 15953 [This is from the Blink Talk Conference] Iwonder if anybody has begun using the readit program and has encountered the problem Ihave. When you set it to write through bios, it only reads 1 or 2 lines and then stops reading. If you have it set to automatic scroll, it works just fine. I found the way Ihad to solve the problem was to turn line move speech clear off in artic 3.03, which is fine until you want to go into review mode and move around the screen reading lines, or maybe look for a line and spell a word in the middle of that line. Then, when moving from line to line with the arrow key, the speech doesn't shut up, so you have to read a lot of superfluous stuff, waiting for each line to clear out of the speech buffer. Is this problem unique with artic? Is there some other setting I'm missing in artic that would do the same thing so Ican leave speech clear on? Readit is a good program, and I"m goint to keep it, but it would be nice to be able to deal with this little quirk in some other way. Also, it reads the top line on the screen twice, once when it should and once after it has read the entire screen, it reads the top line as though it were both bottom and top lines, in other words. Sorry for that long sentence. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!261!1055.0!Mary.Otten Internet: Mary.Otten@p0.f1055.n261.z1.fidonet.org
