about 6 months ago I asked about a pool lift for a new house I was
moving to with a pool and the lift was for my wife. I got a name of
a company in louisville ky but they don't make a commercial grade
unit and for about four hundred dollars more I got a top of the line
commercial grade unit used in public pools residential schools and
institutions. for others facing this problem the hardest part is not
getting the equipment, it is getting someone who isn't scared to
install it. I approached several big time pool equipment comapnies
here and they ran away screaming. fear of the unknown I guess.
Finally I found of all places a nice little small construction
company sort of a mom and pop operation where the president gets on
the phone and hob knobs with the customers who was willing to give it
a shot. He freely admitted he had never done this before but was
willing to try. He had several conversations with the manufactureer
in montana and found out what would have to be done. then we bought
the unit through his company books so I could get the dealer discount
which was about a thousand dollars which he passed on to me. the unit
is installed and works great all on water pressure. my wife slides
from her chair in to this vinyl chair that has a movable left arm
rest and has a safetybelt with velcro closures. the whole thing is
water driven. there is a head rest and foot rest. she grabs a big
rubber handle and pulls it toward her and the chair slowly swings out
from over land to over water then slowly lowers her down in to the
water. all the partsare stainless steel so no rust. real nice unit
and think it will last for years.
