                CALL FOR PAPERS

The Third Annual Seminar on "Current Research on the History of
Disabilities" will be held at the University of Buffalo, Buffalo,
New York, on Friday, November 15, 1992. The seminar is sponsored by
the History of Disabilities Network, a group of researchers in the
Toronto-Buffalo area interested in this topic. The presentations
are expected to be of "work in progress", and therefore this
meeting is less formal than many academic conferences. Graduate
students, university faculty, and disabled consumers have all
presented at previous seminars. The site of the seminar is
wheelchair accessible, and is across the street from four hotels
ranging from cheap to moderately expensive. The cost for the day
is $20 (US or Canadian funds), and includes registration, coffee
breaks and lunch. To get yourself on the program, send a title and
brief description of your topic to the seminar chairman, Dr. David
Gerber, Dept. of History, University of Buffalo -- E-Mail:

The History of Disabilities Network also publishes a newsletter. To
receive the electronic version, send a note to the editor, Dr. Gary
Woodill, School of Early Childhood Education, Ryerson Polytechnical
Institute, Toronto -- E-Mail: FCTY7310@RYERSON.BITNET (due to a
vacation, the next newsletter should be ready in mid-July).
