Index Number: 16019 Hello again, Fred! I am relatively pain free nowadays. But 3-4 years back it was a different story. I have an arthritic bone spur in my neck that presses on a nerve. When the nerve gets inflamed (last happened 3 years ago, lucky for me) there is dull pain in the upper back and very sharp one from the bottom of by left elbow coming over in a sharply marked line to the front of the forearm and ending up on the thumb side of the wrist. All that is accompanied by tingling in the palm and fingers on the left hand, as well as numbness in a couple of fingertips. I have lost some feeling in the left index fingertip. When it was bad nothing helped; even with all the pills I got (no "serious stuff") I was just walking up and down the hallway in the house even in the middle of the night just moaning. Things are much better now. At that time I also got physical therapy and the therapist recommended that I work out regularly with the upper body. I have been doing that for 3 years now (3X a week) with apparently good results. I have a much more serious affliction but that is painless. Cheers, TM -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!272!21!Gary.Greiner Internet: Gary.Greiner@f21.n272.z1.fidonet.org
