Index Number: 16025 Bill: I noticed the following announcement on IBMLink the other day and thought it might be of some interest to handicap digest readers who have IBM systems. IBMLink is an online system which IBM makes available to its customers for information retrieval, system maintenance, etc. The system is accessed via the IBM Information Netowrk. The following announcement may be of interest to those who have access to this system. 06/06/91 ANNOUNCE NEW ABILITY APPLICATION FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES The new Ability application provides access to resource guides about technology for persons with disabilities. These resource guides, published by the IBM National Support Center for Persons with Disabilities (NSCPD) in Atlanta, identify assisting devices and software products which enable a person with a disability to access a personal computer. The resource guides are available for technology, hearing, speech and language, learning, mobility and vision. DISCLAIMERS: While the resource guides help to identify products which may assist disabled individuals in accessing IBM personal computers, they include only a portion of the available products, vendors and support groups. IBM does not recommend, endorse or assist customers in anyway in the selection, review or acquisition of non-IBM products and takes no responsibility whatsoever with regard to the selection, performance or use of the non-IBM products listed. All understandings, agreements or warranties must take place directly between the program/product suppliers and prospective users. You may access Ability by keying the fastpath command ABility at the command line or by selecting an option number (9) from the InfoLink Main Menu.
