Unit (Stayoderm) for about 9 months for an L5-S1 -> Spondo. That is a misallignment of the vertabra in my lower back. -> After about 9 months time, it did lose effectiveness. Why or how did the TENS unit lose its effectiveness. Was it a slow process or did it happen suddenly. If mine did not help I do not know if I could sleep now that I ,got used to it. I tried the other night and ended up putting it on to get some sleep. -Keith- -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!157!3!Keith.Jones Internet: Keith.Jones@f3.n157.z1.fidonet.org

Tolectin is a Non-Steroidal Anti-inflamitory Drug (NSAD) available by RX only. Cytotec is a prescription drug. It helps to increase the mucous lining of the stomach help to pevent ulsers. I learned about BOTH in either this echo or SPINAL_INJURY! >OB> I used a T.E.N.S. Unit (Stayoderm) for about 9 months for an L5-S1 >OB> Spondo. Was it a slow KJ> process or did it happen suddenly. It was a slow process. I believe that part of my problem is that I NEVER had the proper training. A friend of mine was "loaned" a TENS unit by a friend of his. My friend told me about TENS. I asked my Dr. If I could TRY it. He said yes. Later, after I tried it, he prescribed it. But the only training I received was the AUDIO tape that came with the unit! KJ> If mine did not help I do not KJ> know if I could sleep now that I ,got used to it. I've gone to HOT BATHS and 8 hour, timed-release aspirn at bedtime. This rainy weather we are having here in South Florida sure does NOT help. Keepin' The Faith, Orville ... Index Number: 16199 [This is from the Chronic Pain Conference] Orville, thanks for the info. I, too, have also discontinued all pain medication. Use only exercise,TENS, and distraction. Interesting that the rainy weather exascerbates your pain. It does the same to me. I have lived all my life in Cleveland. Last winter I moved to Phoenix to avoid the rain and snow and help my pain. It worked somewhat. The pain was there just not as bad unless a cold front moved through. I have been trying to determine what it is exactly about the weather that bothers me--- the temperature, humidity, precipation, or barometric pressure. Maybe a combination of some or all. Any ideas? -Keith- -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!157!3!Keith.Jones Internet: Keith.Jones@f3.n157.z1.fidonet.org
