To the person who's dog was abused. I can't beleive people can be so
cruel.

I am not handicapped myself, but my daughter is mentally retarded or
more correctly multiply handicapped. 3 years ago we were trying to
get her into a more mainstreamed school program and went part way
through the legal process.

We got assistance from a division of Legal Aid Society that is set up
specifically for Handicapped. It required no fees from us unless it
actually went to court then it would be only court fees (we were told
about $150 to $300 ).

I don't know if this is a statewide organization or not but you could
always see if there is a similar program in your state, there probably
is!

I hope you do carry it through to that and teach her a lesson that she
and others won't forget.

Thanks,
Ray Kopp

P.S. Does anyone know of other newgroups of parents of children with
handicapped conditions?

Oh To be back in N.Y. where the services for the people who need them
are available!!
I am sure that you feel that you had nothing but an up hill battle to
f=get an appropreate program for your daughter. Take hart in the fact
that In the State of Indiana this would be the first year that the
Department of Education would talk to you before your daughter was 7
years of age. I moved to Indiana from N.Y. in 1979 and I only stay
here due to employment. REGENTS structure for Education is the
answer!!!
